What really surprised me was how annoyed the studio audience was at the live-pitch commercials. It's not very often that they make their displeasure known.

Pretty decent show. Not bad at all. Shame that Dennis James work is so hard to find.

Subject: Summary of episode
This program is a bit like "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts." Host Dennis James introduces entertainers, with the audience selecting winners by level of applause.

In the first half of this episode, a female singer competes against a quartet whose act is part music and part comedy. After both acts perform, the winner returns in the second half to compete against the winner (a male singer) from the previous week.

The overall winner for the night receivs $1,000 and a week's engagement to perform professionally.

Host Dennis James interviews the female singer and the leader of the quartet and does two live commercials for Bromo-Seltzer.
